These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the desktop writing application and related websites provided by WriteAway ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Article 1 — Purpose

The purpose of these Terms is to define the rights, obligations, responsibilities and conditions of service use between the Service provider and users.

Article 2 — Definitions

• —"Service" refers to the WriteAway desktop writing application and related website (writeaway.me).
• —"User" refers to any person who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
• —"Paid Service" refers to services available through separate payment, such as the License purchase.
• —"Content" refers to all materials created and stored by Users through the Service, including text and images.

Article 3 — Display and Amendment of Terms

• —These Terms are posted on the Service website for public notice.
• —The Service provider may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable laws.
• —Amendments will be announced through the Service at least 7 days before the effective date, along with the reason for change.
• —Changes unfavorable to users will be announced at least 30 days before the effective date.

Article 4 — Service Provision and Changes

• —The Service is a local-first desktop writing application that runs on the user's device.
• —The Free plan provides core writing features permanently for free.
• —Purchasing a License (paid) permanently unlocks additional features such as AI chat.
• —The Service provider may modify the Service as technically necessary, with prior notice.
• —The Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance, with prior notice.

Article 5 — Payment and Paid Services

• —Paid services can be accessed through payment within the Service or on the website.
• —Payment methods: Credit cards, debit cards, and other methods supported by the payment processor.
• —Payment amount and service period follow the information provided at the time of payment.
• —Paid services are available immediately after payment is completed.

Article 6 — Withdrawal and Refund

Detailed refund matters are governed by the separate Refund Policy.

• —Full refund within 7 days of payment if the service has not been used
• —Pro-rata refund for remaining period during active use
• —Refund requests can be submitted to contact@writeaway.me

Article 7 — Intellectual Property

• —All intellectual property rights of the Service, including software, design, and logos, belong to the Service provider.
• —Copyright of content created by users through the Service belongs to the users.
• —Users may not reverse-engineer, copy, or distribute the Service.

Article 8 — User Obligations

• —Users may not use the Service for illegal purposes.
• —Users may not misuse or fraudulently use others' information.
• —Users may not engage in activities that disrupt normal Service operation.

Article 9 — Disclaimer

• —The Service is provided AS-IS without any express or implied warranties.
• —User data is stored on the user's device, and the Service provider is not responsible for data loss.
• —Regular backups are recommended.
• —The Service provider is not liable for service disruptions caused by force majeure events.

Article 10 — Dispute Resolution

• —Disputes related to these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
• —The court having jurisdiction over the Service provider's location shall be the court of first instance.
• —For e-commerce disputes, mediation may be sought through dispute resolution bodies as designated by the Fair Trade Commission.
